Evolutionary Developmental Biology

Research Interests

In a broad sense, my lab studies how genetics at the molecular level lead to the phenotypic differences that distinguish plant species.

Current projects include:

-Developing Streptanthus polygaloides as a model plant system for evolutionary developmental biology

-Characterizing papaya genes involved in inflorescence architecture by generating transgenic Arabidopsis plants

-Tracking fluorescently labeled proteins involved in flowering over ontogeny
